Did you know?

The part of Tony Soprano, as played by James Gandolfini in the television series The Sopranos, was originally written as a female character. But after the second day of filming the pilot episode, series creator David Chase caught Gandolfini naked in his dressing room.
The lead actor, who had masqueraded as an actress in order to win the part, confessed that he was in fact male. Chase then realised that the role was better suited to a man, and re-shot footage of Gandolfini, this time without makeup or prosthetic breasts. The show subsequently became a massive hit.
